Illagers are known to be destructive, ruthless, mean, cruel and strong mobs. They are also one of the very few hostile mobs that appear during both daytime and nighttime. Once the player finds a Pillager Outpost and kills the Pillager Captain who has an Illager flag on his back, they get the Bad Omen affect. Once the player returns to his or her village, the Illagers begin to raid. The second round are Pillagers and Vindicators. The fourth round brings Ravagers and Evokers. If the player gets defeated and the villagers all die, the Illagers takeover the village. If at least one villager survives the raid, and the Illagers get defeated, the player wins. Woodland Mansions are the main headquarters of the Illagers. The mansions are huge and rare structures in the game, spawning only in Dark Forest and Dark Forest Hills Biomes. In these mansions, Evokers and Vindicators can spawn. It is hard to find a Woodland Mansion since they are rarest structures in the game. However, the player can acquire a map of a Woodland Mansion from a Cartographer via trade. Pillager Outposts are a scout tower-like structures. In these structures, there are Pillagers that holding crossbows and a Pillager Captain who carries an Illager banner. There are also Iron Golems that are imprisoned by Pillagers and put in a cage. There is a chest, tents, and scarecrows in this structure. In this structure, Pillagers will continuously spawn, and if the player kills the captain, they will get a "Bad Omen" status effect, which triggers a raid to occur in the next village visited by the player.Ī Raid is an attack from the Illagers to a village. If the player enters a village while they have a Bad Omen effect, a raid will start and Illagers will come to the village and attack them. In these raids, player can gain loot like armors and emeralds from killing the raiders. If the raid ends with a fail, the player will get the "Hero of the Village" effect. Patrols are a group of two-five Illagers. They patrol around the biome and they attack the player when they encounter them. There is a patrol captain and they carry a banner. A similar mob appears in the Minecraft Dungeons Creeping Winter DLC, also called the illusioner. If the captain is killed, the player will get the "Bad Omen" status effect. The sound for the illusioner shooting is named "Skeleton Shoots", but in reality only the illusioner is shooting. If it is naturally spawned, the illusioner will be considered as the first mob to bring blindness to players. However, if a player spawns one nearby, it may join in an existing raid, and its HP will added to the "raid progress bar". Illusioners do not naturally spawn as part of the raid mechanic.Although they both wield bows, an illusioner holds its bow in a different position than a skeleton.Illusioners may be added to woodland mansions in the near future.

Illusioner illusions have no hitboxes and are only designed to aggravate and damage their enemy. The real illusioner will turn itself invisible, forcing its attacker to dodge its illusions' arrows and try to find and kill the real illusioner. The illusions wield bows and will shoot at the player or nearby villagers and/or iron golems. These illusions are indestructible and will only despawn once the real illusioner has been killed. The illusioner spawns illusions/clones of itself when any player is too close for its bow to be effective. The remaining durability of the bow will be random. Illusioners will also drop one ominous banner, if it is a raid captain.

When killed by a player, any naturally-spawned equipment (including their bow) has an 8.5% (9.5% with Looting I, 10.5% with Looting II and 11.5% with Looting III) chance of dropping. It signals this spell by raising its arms and producing blue smoke particles.

It will refresh the effect whenever it expires. While creating duplicates, the real illusioner will cast an invisibility effect on itself which lasts 60 seconds. This comprises its first attack phase. The Illusioner will continue to shoot at its target while creating identical illusions of itself, which cannot be killed. It blinds players by raising its arms and produces particles, then continues firing arrows. BehaviorĪn illusioner will attack players, villagers, and iron golems, firing its bow at any who are about 12-24 blocks away. There is currently no illusioner spawn egg. They do not naturally spawn in any circumstances - not even in woodland mansions like other illager mobs do. In the future, illusioners will be able to spawn and take part in raids. Illusioners can only be spawned with the command /summon minecraft:illusioner.
